Welcome

Founding members are all active supporters of regenerating native plant communities in the Goolmangar Catchment. Goals of the organisation as listed in our rules are;

1. To restore natural communities including the control of invasive exotic species in the Goolmangar Creek Catchment and neighbouring catchments.

2 Undertake and support landcare activities that further the above object.

3. Facilitate collaboration between managers of all types of land tenure to achieve the above goals.

4. Disseminate information to raise public awareness and appreciation of the values of biological communities dominated by native species.

5. Provide information to the public to inform development of best practice strategies to restore biological communities and exotic species control in the catchment.

6. Raise money to finance activities in pursuit of the above objectives.

The Goolmangar Creek Catchment lies within the native title lands of the Widjabul Wia-bal clan of the Bundjalung people. Activities are undertaken in respectful collaboration, integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary restoration practices to strengthen land management, protect culturally significant areas, and enhance ecological resilience through community partnerships

The formation of the group will facilitate the regeneration of native plant communities by;

  • facilitating community volunteer projects

  • providing a structure to enable grant applications covering multiple land holders and land tenures

  • enabling tax deductible donations to fund regenerative contractors

  • disseminate learned regenerative practices proven to work in the catchment.
